FWS Listing Workplan

Search, sort, and filter the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s workplan for evaluating species for ESA listing.

As part of a court settlement, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service developed a workplan for evaluating whether hundreds of species warrant listing under the Endangered Species Act. They released the workplan in Adobe PDF format, which limits the ability to calculate simple overviews, filter, or sort the data. We extracted the tables and created this simple web app (also embedded below) to help everyone explore the data and understand the process. Different priority numbers can be shown or hidden in the graph, and the table can be easily sorted and filtered using the search boxes. Feel free to explore the app and let us know what you think!
